What appears to be a dance or water landing is really a series of rapid left and right maneuvers the Great Egret was using to catch small fish. As soon as the egret's feet came down, its head and neck would rocket into the water to catch a fish. It still looks more like a dance to me which is why I titled the photo "Show Off."
