Sheltering in Place
Before the Stay at Home/Shelter in Place orders, I never spent much time photographing birds and small animals in my backyard. So now, everyday, I go outside and sit in my backyard to see what shows up. On most mornings a fox takes the same path through my yard. I found a steady stream of birds and squirrels heading to the bird feeders. And all the flowers are blooming. Here are some of the photos I've posted here on this website as well as on social media. Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus)
Ruby-throated Hummingbird In Flight
Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris). The ruby throat often looks blackish particularly in bad light.
Gray Catbird Flying off Feeder
This Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis) had trouble hanging onto the suet feeder so it would fly onto the feeder, grab a piece of suet and fly off.
